ChefPal Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ChefPal ("ChefPal," "we," "us," or "our"). By using ChefPal, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use ChefPal. If you use ChefPal on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for them.
Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate account information and to notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
ChefPal may support email sign-in and Sign in with Apple. Account access depends on the availability of our authentication providers.
The Service
ChefPal provides meal planning, pantry management, recipe saving, shopping-list tools, and AI cooking assistant features. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
ChefPal is for personal, household cooking and planning use unless we agree otherwise in writing.
AI Outputs
ChefPal uses AI systems to generate assistant messages, meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, nutrition estimates, and related content. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsafe for your circumstances, or not suitable for your dietary needs.
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI outputs before relying on them. Always check ingredients, allergens, cooking temperatures, food safety guidance, nutrition estimates, and product labels.
ChefPal is not a medical, nutrition, allergy, dietetic, or professional food-safety service. Do not use ChefPal as a substitute for professional advice.
User Content
"User Content" means information, messages, files, photos, videos, documents, preferences, recipes, pantry items, and other content you submit or create in ChefPal.
You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant ChefPal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, modify, transmit, and display User Content as needed to operate, improve, secure, and support the service.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your User Content and that your User Content does not violate these Terms or the rights of others.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use ChefPal for unlawful, harmful, abusive, deceptive, or infringing activity
- Upload content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or invasive of privacy
- Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, scrape, or attack ChefPal
- Circumvent usage limits, quotas, subscriptions, or security controls
- Use ChefPal to generate or distribute spam, malware, or harmful instructions
- Submit another person's personal information without permission
- Use ChefPal in a way that violates third-party terms or applicable law
We may remove content, suspend access, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Subscriptions, Trials, and Payments
ChefPal may offer free trials, usage quotas, paid subscriptions, or other paid features. Prices, quotas, and plan features may change over time.
For iOS users, digital subscriptions and paid digital features must be purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system when offered in the app. Apple handles payment processing, cancellation, refunds, and subscription management under its own terms and policies.
If you cancel a subscription, you may continue to have access until the end of the current billing period unless Apple or applicable law provides otherwise.
Account Deletion
You can initiate account deletion from Settings in the app. Account deletion removes ChefPal-owned app data associated with your account, subject to limited retention for legal, security, billing, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and backup purposes.
Deleting your account may permanently remove saved pantry items, recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, chat history, uploaded files tracked by the app, assistant memory, preferences, and entitlement records.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information. By using ChefPal, you agree that we may handle information as described in the Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
ChefPal may rely on third-party services, including authentication, hosting, storage, AI providers, image providers, and app store platforms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their terms and policies may apply.
Disclaimers
ChefPal is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability.
We do not guarantee that ChefPal will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that AI outputs will be accurate or safe for your needs.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChefPal and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to ChefPal will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to ChefPal in the 12 months before the claim or (b) $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
Termination
You may stop using ChefPal at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other users, or if we discontinue the service.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice where required. Continued use of ChefPal after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules.
